Training Center Overview

The Richmond Hill Shooting Range is located on Richmond Hill Wildlife Management Area in Bryan County, Georgia. It is a modern, comfortable facility which features a 14-station range with a 100-yard rifle range lane, and a 10-station range with a 50-yard pistol lane. The visitor seating area and shooting stations are covered for protection from environmental elements. Two classrooms, one indoor and one outdoor, allow for training and instruction not requiring live fire exercises and have ample space and seating to accommodate classes of up to 20 attendees. Presentation equipment, vending machines, and restroom facilities are available in the indoor classroom.

Required Range Access Documentation

A Land Pass is required to utilize the facilities provided to the public by the Richmond Hill Wildlife Management Area. The pass is inexpensive ($15 annually) and can be purchased for a wide variety of uses (fishing, hunting, the range, etc.). The category of license does not matter and will allow all Phase2 Advantage firearm course attendees to have full use of the resources.

Purchasing a license is easy and can be done online through the “Go Outdoors Georgia” website. Register with the site and select the type of license you want to purchase. Print the receipt generated by the purchase (one will also be emailed to you) and present it to the Range Safety Officers when you sign in for your first visit. You will then be issued a laminate range membership card that can be used during each subsequent visit.

To select the category of license you wish to purchase, click through to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources website. To make the purchase and print your initial receipt, click through to the “Go Outdoor Georgia” website. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes.

Directions to the Training Facility

Follow Georgia Highway 144 approximately 10.3 miles east from Richmond Hill. Turn left onto Kilkenny Road; it will be clearly marked by a yellow road sign. The range entrance sign – Richmond Hill Shooting Range – is 0.8 miles on left. A red flag is displayed by the sign when the range is open for operation.

Follow the unpaved road 0.5 miles to the primary range parking area and range offices. Parking for disabled visitors is in front of the range offices.
